Health coaching aims to improve quality of life after a cancer diagnosis by working towards an active and satisfying life.
Michelle McInnes, a registered psychologist, supports people who have been diagnosed with cancer. She uses evidence-based techniques such as cognitive behaviour therapy, positive psychology and mindfulness. She works collaboratively with clients to address barriers to better health, such as anxiety, depression, fatigue, pain, treatment side effects, sleep disturbance, and fear of recurrence.
Her approach aims to create lifestyle changes through collaborative conversations with the goal to develop the mindset for change and resilience.
At this information session Michelle will talk about her approach. She will explain the techniques she applies in her sessions and how they can be used to improve qualify of life after a cancer diagnosis.
