Community Art Event
A creative workshop with artist Paula & quilter and needle worker Gillian
This March, we are marking Lymphoedema Awareness Month a little differently.
Project Garment Glow-Up is a hands-on community workshop where old compression garments are transformed into a powerful collective art installation. Each garment tells a story of daily commitment, resilience and the ongoing management of a chronic condition that is often invisible and misunderstood .
Compression is a cornerstone of lymphoedema care, yet many people are unaware that garments lose their effectiveness over time and require professional fitting and regular replacement. Through this creative event, we are not only raising awareness but also providing practical education about garment assessment, appropriate replacement and evidence-based management.
Inspired by the success of our previous community initiative, Project Boobiful, this event brings people together to connect and create. The final artwork will remain on permanent display in our clinic as a visible reminder that lymphoedema deserves attention, understanding and specialised care .
We are hosting this event because awareness leads to earlier intervention, better outcomes and stronger community support. No one managing lymphoedema should feel unseen – and together, we can make the invisible visible.
All materials are provided, just bring your old compression garment if you have one.
No experience needed.
