What Is LymphaTouch® and How Can It Support Your Recovery?

At Oncology Recovery Services, we believe in combining hands-on expertise with innovative technologies that make a real difference to your recovery. One of the tools we’re excited to offer is LymphaTouch®, a gentle, non-invasive treatment that supports recovery from swelling, pain, and restricted movement—particularly after cancer treatment or surgery.

Let’s take a closer look at how it works and whether it might help you.

What Is LymphaTouch®?

It is a handheld device that uses negative pressure therapy (a gentle suction) to lift the skin and underlying tissues. This subtle lifting action has been shown to:

  • Increase space between tissue layers, reducing tightness and restriction
  • Stimulate the lymphatic system to move excess fluid
  • Improve blood flow and soften areas of scar tissue or fibrosis

Put simply, it helps “decongest” areas of swelling, ease discomfort, and improve how tissues move and feel.

Who Might Benefit?

We often recommend LymphaTouch® for clients experiencing:

  • Post-surgical swelling or lymphoedema
  • Radiation-induced tissue changes such as fibrosis or tightness
  • Soft tissue pain or areas of scar adhesion
  • Reduced range of motion, especially after cancer treatment

It’s especially useful as part of a broader rehabilitation plan that may include massage, exercise, and manual lymphatic drainage.

What Does the Research Say?

LymphaTouch® is backed by growing clinical evidence:

1. Swelling and Lymphoedema

A recent study found that people with arm swelling after surgery saw up to an 11.6% reduction in circumference within just one day of treatment, with the greatest changes in the upper arm and wrist.

2. Cancer Recovery – Head & Neck

In a case involving a thyroid cancer survivor with neck swelling, combining LymphaTouch® with other therapies improved neck movement by 50% in rotation and 20% in side bending over 6 weeks.

3. Compared to Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

A randomised trial showed that patients using LymphaTouch® had better reductions in swelling and lymph scores compared to those receiving MLD alone—without any reported side effects.

Why We Use It

At our clinic, we value treatments that are safe, personalised, and evidence-based. This technology allows us to:

  • Tailor treatment to your comfort and goals
  • Target deep or stubborn areas gently
  • Complement hands-on care with measurable results

Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing lymphoedema, or just wanting to feel more mobile and comfortable, LymphaTouch® may support your journey.

Curious If It’s Right for You?

If you’re dealing with swelling, tightness, or post-treatment discomfort, book a session or ask your therapist if LymphaTouch® could be added to your care.

We’re here to help you feel your best—safely, gently, and with the latest tools that make a difference.
